The internal freewheel allows the motor to be disengaged when riding without assistance, allowing you to use your bike as a muscle without being braked by the motor.
Once the assistance is engaged, the motor will help you up to 50% of your traditional effort for a 10% slope: The maximum torque is 40N.m.

A COMPLETE MOTOR WHEEL
With your kit you receive a complete drive wheel. This wheel consists of a hub motor, a rim and 36 spokes.
All our wheels are carefully assembled in France by our experts.
In order to offer you the best quality, we will choose the rim the most adapted to your bike. All our rims are double-walled and made in France.
For the Touring kit, we propose you to choose between two engines: The Bobber motor which exists in front wheel or rear wheel version or the Freerider engine.
The Bobber motor weighs only 2,8Kg. It will be the ideal companion for those who want efficient assistance but do not want to compromise on weight.
The Bobber 250W motor will be forgotten when using the bike without assistance because of its low weight and its internal freewheel technology that allows an automatic disengagement of the motor when it is not powered.
The Bobber is a brushless motor of the "reduced" type which integrates a 1:4.4 ratio epicyclic gearbox with internal freewheel, allowing it to offer a torque of 40N.m.
This torque is sufficient for riders weighing less than 80Kg who want to continue pedaling a maximum by themselves while enjoying a light assistance without making the bike too heavy.
Thanks to its internal clutch, you won't feel any brake while riding, which will give you the impression of riding a normal bike.
The Bobber 250W motor is available in front or rear wheel version. The characteristics are the same. The choice of the rear motor is to be preferred except for some bicycles which has a Nexus rear hub, belt transmission, back-pedal brake, non-standard rear wheelbase ...
The Bobber rear motor is equipped with a cassette body compatible with Shimano and Sram cassettes up to 11 speeds. If your bike is equipped with a 7 or 8 speed cassette, you will need to add cassette spacers.
The motor is supplied with shim washers that will allow you to center the drive wheel in your frame.
The rear motor has a 135mm center distance while the front motor has a 100mm center distance.
You will be able to screw your brake disc with the standard 6 holes on the motor.
The Freerider motor is the big brother of the Bobber engine. Its weight is 4Kg.
We advise you to choose the freerider motor if you weigh more than 80Kg or if you want to equip a cargo bike (longtail). This motor will offer you 20% more torque than the Bobber motor.
It is also a reduced motor with epicyclic gear and integrated freewheel which offers you a lot of torque and ease of pedaling since the motor is totally disengaged when it is not powered ... You pedal like on a traditional bike without the motor braking you.
The cassette body of the freerider motor is compatible with Shimano and Sram cassettes up to 11 speeds. If your bike is equipped with a 7 or 8 speed cassette, you will need to add cassette spacers.
The Freerider motor is supplied with shim washers that will allow you to center the wheel in your frame. It can be installed on all traditional frames equipped with a 135mm rear axle.
You will be able to screw your standard 6 holes brake disc on the motor. For bikes equipped with pad brakes, don't forget to order a rim with a surfaced edge like the Mach1 260.
All our wheels are carefully spoked in our workshop by enthusiasts: spoke tension, centering, sail and runout, everything is checked before shipment.
All our rims are double wall type, thus ensuring the best possible strength.
The 36 spokes are in stainless steel of 2.3mm diameter, made in France.
To power your Touring kit, you will need to choose a 36V battery. All 36V batteries in our catalog are compatible with this motor.
The choice of the battery capacity will have to be made according to the autonomy you wish. For example, a 500Wh battery will give you about 50Km of autonomy without forcing you on the bike and up to 80Km for the most sportive ones. A 1000Wh battery will give you double the autonomy.
The second criterion to take into account when choosing the battery will be where you want to install the battery on your bike. For this we propose two battery formats: The "PVC" batteries or the "fairing" batteries.
Frame batteries have a fairing that protects the battery from moisture, rain, shock and dust and allows you to lock the battery to the frame or luggage rack.
The "PVC" battery does not have a fairing and will therefore be lighter and cheaper, but you will have to install it in a bag to ensure its protection and its fixation on the bike.
The 250Wh water-bottle battery fits in a classic can holder and weighs only 1.2Kg. This battery also allows you to recharge your smartphone or a GPS thanks to its USB port.
THE 250W 15A CONTROLER
The controller is the brain of the motorization. It controls the engine according to the instructions received by the various sensors in your kit.
The controller integrates a thermal protection that protects the engine from overheating.
Since 2021 all our controllers are IP64 waterproof thanks to a tropicalization process which consists in embedding all the electronic components in resin. This process allows us to offer you a high level of reliability.
The shape of the controller will be different depending on the type of battery selected.
If you choose a "frame" battery, the controller is integrated into the battery holder, which limits the number of cables on the bike and improves the aesthetics of the set.
If your choice was a PVC battery or the 250Wh Bottle battery or the 400Wh bottle, your kit will be delivered with the external controller.
THE WIRING HARNESS
The wiring harness connects all the components of your system together. All connectors are waterproof and have visual coding for easy installation.

THREE CONTROL SCREEN TO CHOOSE FROM
Vertical black and white display, the entry level: Black and white display, it includes all the main functions. The original bracket is designed for installation on the handlebars, but we offer an optional stem mount for mountain bikes. 9 assistance modes.
Compact color display: Its compact size makes it perfect for committed mountain biking. It sits on the left side of the handlebar so you won't be able to use it if you have the derailleur lever on the left side of the handlebar. 9 assistance modes.
Vertical color display: With this display you get the best of the VAE market. This model displays more parameters and has an auto-adaptive backlight and a USB port for charging a smartphone or GPS while driving. 9 fully user-configurable assistance modes: You are free to set the 9 modes so that your assistance can best adapt to your needs.
THE PEDAL SENSOR
The pedal sensor enables the motor to be activated automatically when pedaling.
We have several models of pedal sensors in order to adapt to all bicycle standards. The choice of the pedal sensor will be made by us once your order is validated.
Integrated bottom bracket sensor: Compact and invisible, it is only compatible with square axle bottom bracket housings that have a minimum clearance of 4mm between the crank and the frame.
Pedal sensor with magnetic disc: For all other bikes.
Note that on some carbon frames it is not possible to install a bottom bracket sensor. We therefore recommend manual assistance by means of a thumb trigger to be positioned on the handlebars.
A throttle offers the possibility of controlling the engine manually to help with hill starts.
The Thumb Trigger can be installed on the right or left side of the handlebar.
The brake cut-off is not necessary for the correct operation of your motorization but offers additional safety by cutting the motor when braking.
It comes in the form of a brake handle for bikes equipped with flat handlebars and cable brakes or a cable contact for road bikes with a cocotte or a magnetic sensor for bikes equipped with hydraulic brakes.
You can get it back on your bike or buy a new one with the kit and we will install it on the engine.
Bobber and Freerider motors are compatible with SRAM and SHIMANO cassettes up to 11 speeds.
Note that if you have 7 or 8 speeds, you will need to take a cassette spacer to fit it on the motor.
ON WHICH BIKE CAN I INSTALL A TOURING KIT ?
The Touring kit in rear wheel version is compatible with all bikes equipped with a 9x135mm rear wheel axle.
To be sure that you can install the motor on your bike, you need to check that you have a traditional open frame with 135mm center distance.
With a ruler, measure the inside width of your frame (A value). You must have at least 135mm (13,5cm).
Then measure the notches of the frame slats (value B). You must have 9 or 10mm.
The Touring kit in front wheel version is compatible with all bikes equipped with a 9x100mm front wheel axle.
To be sure that the installation of the Road motor is possible on your bike, you have to check that you have a traditional open fork with 100mm axle distance.
With a ruler, measure the inside width of your frame (A value). You must have at least 100mm (10cm).
Then measure the notches of the fork tips (value B). You must have 9 or 10mm.
