For the novice user the 500W front wheel kit will fit your needs. The power of the 500W motor is defined according to the choice of your 36V battery, the bonus of the 500W/36V format is an increase of the top speed of 8 km/h and 15% of additional torque.
The "Donkey" motor is a reduced motor. It incorporates an epicyclic train on which the gears are reinforced. This engine works in sensorless, which means that any risk of failure due to a sensor failure is ruled out. You can hurtle down the slopes at any speed without risk.
The winding and power cables are sized to pass a maximum of power without overheating and the mapping of the controller is set for "mountain bike" use and not for "city" use, which gives it a dynamic and playful behavior ... you like trialing, jumps or steep paths? this is the kit you need!
The cartography of the front wheel kit has really been studied for the practice of the VTTAE, which allows to have a maximum torque available immediately without time of response to the acceleration thus allowing you to facilitate the crossings of obstacles.
The "Donkey" motor is a reduced motor with reinforced epicyclic gear and internal freewheel. This allows you to have a lot of torque and a great facility with the pedalling since the engine is completely disengaged when it is not fed... You pedal like on a traditional bike without the motor braking you. The "Donkey" motor is supplied with washers that will allow you to center the wheel in your frame. It can be installed on all traditional frames equipped with a front axle in 100mm of center distance. You will be able to screw your brake disc to the standard 6 holes on the motor. For bikes equipped with brake pads, don't forget to order a rim with surfaced edges like the Kargo. |
With your kit you receive a complete drive wheel. All our wheels are carefully spoked in our workshop by enthusiasts: spoke tension, centering, sail and false round, everything is checked before shipping. The 36 spokes are made of stainless steel 2,3mm diameter, made in France. These French made rims will allow you to use your kit in all conditions. For bikes equipped with brake pads, choose a rim with surfaced edges like the Mach1 Kargo. |
The 22A controller comes with a fully sealed Julet connector which is very easy to install. Each connector has a coded pin, so there is no risk of making a mistake. This controller is only compatible with OZO frame batteries. |
All connectors are waterproof and have visual indicators. It's impossible to make a mistake when plugging in. A single cable runs from the motor to the handlebars to connect the various accessories: 2 Red connectors for the brake cut-offs 1 Green connector for the handlebar display 1 Yellow connector for the gas pedal (optional) |
The "frame" batteries are to be installed in place of the water bottle holder on the bike frame. If your bike does not have a water bottle holder you can install the frame battery with the threaded adapters.
These batteries have a fairing that protects them from shocks, dust and water. This fairing also offers a good protection against theft thanks to a lock that allows you to lock the battery on the bike frame with a key. A battery life gauge and an ON/OFF switch are integrated into the battery.
In order to meet all autonomy needs, OZO offers a wide choice of capacities, from 500Wh to 1000Wh.
The choice of the battery capacity should be made according to the autonomy you want. For example, a 500Wh battery will give you about 50Km of autonomy without forcing on the bike and up to 100Km depending on your effort. A 1000Wh battery, will give you the double of autonomy.
You will find all the dimensions of the frame batteries in the "documentation" tab and the detailed description on the "36V frame battery" page |
The autonomies indicated above according to the capacity of the battery represent an average which a cyclist of 75Kg can traverse in city or in countryside on a little undulating course. We take for the calculation of the autonomy above a base of consumption of 7Wh/km. The real autonomy that you will obtain will depend on various factors such as your weight, the pressure of the tires, the unevenness of the course... |
The above autonomies are given as an indication only. We take as a basis of calculation, for the consumption in VTT, a consumption of 10Wh/km. This is an average reached by the majority of mountain bikers who use the engine as an assistance of 50% compared to the normal effort. Some of you will consume less and others more, but experience in using the motor is also important. A beginner in VTTAE will consume 12Wh/km where an experienced rider will consume 8Wh/km on the same route... If you want to know more about how to estimate the autonomy of an electric bike, OZO provides you with a complete article entitled "How to estimate the autonomy of your electric bike". |
On the wheel motor kits that are equipped with 15A controllers and more, you will need a pedal sensor. This will engage the motor and therefore the assistance of the bike. The pedal sensor is a rotation sensor. You are obliged to pedal to have the assistance. There are several types of sensors to match 90% of bikes on the market. Integrated bottom bracket sensor: For square axle bottom brackets that have a minimum clearance of 4mm between the crank and the frame. Bottom bracket sensor with magnetic disc: For all other bikes that do not have the minimum clearance to install an integrated sensor. |
The torque arm is a laser-cut stainless steel part that prevents the drive wheel nuts from loosening so as not to damage the frame of your bike. The torque arm is essential with the Speed kit. To choose the right model for your bike, please read the instructions on the role of the torque arm. |
The throttle offers the ability to control the motor without pedaling. In the form of a thumb trigger, the throttle can be installed on the right or left side of the handlebars. Note, however, that the throttle is not approved for use on roads open to traffic. It can be used on a mountain bike to help with hill starts and obstacle crossing. | The brake cut-off is an additional safety feature that cuts off the power to the motor when braking. This is particularly useful during delicate maneuvers. The brake cut-off comes in different forms: Brake handles that are installed in place of your original handles. The sensor on cable which is installed on the brake cable. The magnetic sensor to be reserved for bikes equipped with hydraulic brakes. |
The torque arm is a laser-cut stainless steel part that prevents the drive wheel nuts from loosening so as not to damage the frame of your bike. The torque arm is strongly recommended for bikes with a carbon frame. | OZO has selected for you the best tires for ATVs on the market. With integrated anti-puncture protection or double ply, you will find all the tires in the tires section |
The front wheel kit is compatible with all bikes equipped with a 9x100mm or 10x100mm front wheel axis. To be sure that the installation is possible on your bike, you need to verify that you have a traditional open frame with 100mm of center distance. With a ruler, measure the inside width of your frame (value A). You should have at least 100mm (10cm). Then measure the frame notches (B value). You should have 9 or 10mm. |
